Cable stockings with two thimbles or eyelets attached by compression are available in a version with both ends open or in an open weave with one side completely open. These are used for pulling and transporting any kind of heavy cables or pipes.
The stockings open at both ends have the advantage against the ones open at only one end that the cable or pipe can extend beyond the stocking at either end between the eyes or thimbles. The stockings that open on the side can be placed on any position over a pipe or cable and then be laced up and tightened using two strand ties.
