Icon Sustainable Ethical Setting higher standards

At ROPETEX & POWERTEX, actions speak louder than words. We focus on responsible sourcing and waste reduction as part of our overall efforts to minimise environmental impact. Our use of r-PET materials is one example of how we are looking for more environmentally friendly alternatives. Our aim is to integrate sustainability aspects into our entire product range. We take a structured approach to compliance with our Code of Conduct, including regular on-site audits and supplier training. These initiatives support our aim to contribute to a more responsible and future-orientated lifting industry.

What does sustainability mean in practice at ROPETEX & POWERTEX?

  • Innovative r-PET products: Selected items in our range are made from recycled polyester, which helps to reduce the use of virgin materials and the associated CO₂ emissions.
  • Ethical sourcing and sustainable production: We work to align our supply chain with the principles set out in our Supplier Code of Conduct and promote fair and ethical practices.
  • Waste reduction: We aim to minimise waste through digital manuals, optimised packaging and continuous efficiency improvements.
  • Targeted sustainability audits: Our structured approach includes regular on-site audits and working with suppliers to support compliance with our standards.

Fact-based communication

We believe that sustainability should be communicated based on facts and not greenwashing. All of our more sustainable products come with sustainability fact sheets that clearly state their environmental benefits and improvements. Here is the sustainability fact sheet for our PRS r-PET round slings as an example.

Audits for compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct

As part of our sustainability efforts, we conduct regular audits to verify compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct, focussing on both environmental and social aspects. These audits include document reviews, in-depth on-site inspections and direct dialogue with employees and management. Our auditors assess working conditions such as wages, health and safety, rest breaks, facilities and working hours, as well as environmental practices in the production process.

Improving performance through training and education

Our local teams provide advice on sustainability and working conditions and help production partners to meet our standards. This collaborative approach gets results: 93% of producers improve their performance in follow-up audits.

Working together for a smaller CO2 footprint

We are committed to improving the sustainability of our products throughout their life cycle. By working with innovative manufacturers, we focus on responsible sourcing, efficient use of materials and products that are easy to repair. Our goal is to extend the lifespan of our products, reduce the need for frequent replacement and make choices that help reduce our carbon footprint. Through these efforts, we are constantly working towards a more sustainable future.
