ROPETEX S18 is a semi-rotation resistant steel wire rope consisting of two layers of strands and a (steel) wire strand core. As the outer strands are closed in the opposite direction of the inner strands this rope is considered as semi-rotation resistant rope.
ROPETEX S18 should not be used with a swivel and for unguided single part in great lifting height, with reference to the rotational properties (see manual).
ROPETEX S18 is mostly used in diameter from 3 to 8 mm in several lifting applications like truck cranes, overhead cranes, jib cranes, electrical hoists and all other applications where a semi-rotation resistant wire rope is good enough.
If you are searching for a rotation-resistant steel wire rope, look at ROPETEX S55.

ROPETEX S65 (and S16) steel wire ropes are the most commonly used type of steel wire ropes in the range from 8 to 38 mm. Both can be used for a variety of applications. Available as S65 with Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) or as S16 with Fiber Core (FC). S65 is less flexible but has higher strength and is more dimensionally stable, especially when used on sheaves or drums. S16 is more flexible but has a lower breaking strength.
Typical applications:
Wire rope sling
Winch rope
Hoisting installations
Lifting applications
Lifting rope
Mooring rope
Towing rope
Cranes
Hoists
Available in Right Hand Ordinary Lay (RHOL) and Left Hand Ordinary Lay (LHOL).
Alternatives:
ROPETEX S16 is a very comparable rope with a Fiber Core (FC) instead of an Independent Steel Wire Rope Core (IWRC);

ROPETEX S14 is a popular choice of steel wire rope in diameters from 3 to 12 mm. ROPETEX S14 is equipped with a Fiber Core (FC), which makes the rope very flexible with reasonable strength.
ROPETEX S14 can be used for applications where the rope runs over sheaves and pulleys. Also for cranes with low heights, when rotation resistant rope is not needed.
ROPETEX S33 may be a better choice because it is equipped with a Wire Strand Core (WSC) which gives it higher strength and more resistance to crushing.
Typical applications:
Garage doors
Industrial doors
Lifting applications
Slings
Alternatives:
ROPETEX S33 is the same rope but with a Wire Strand Core instead of a Fibre Core, offering a higher strength but slightly less flexibility;
ROPETEX S16 offers comparable features as S14 but in diameter range 8-38 mm.

ROPETEX S55 is a rotating-resistant steel wire rope consisting of three layers of strands and a (steel) wire strand core. As the outer layer are closed in the opposite direction of the two inner layers this rope is considered as rotating-resistant steel wire rope.
ROPETEX S55 is available from 9 to 20 mm and can be used for unguided single part lifting even with great lifting heights.
ROPETEX S55 is good to use in several crane types like tower cranes, mobile cranes, electrical hoists and all other applications where a rotation resistant wire rope is required.
If you are searching for a comparable rope in a smaller diameter, look at ROPETEX S18.

ROPETEX S33 is equipped with a Wire Strand Core (WSC) which gives the rope a good strength and a reasonable balance between fatigue and wear resistance.
ROPETEX S33 can be used for applications where the rope runs over sheaves and pulleys. Also for cranes with low heights, when rotation resistant rope is not needed.
The construction has good resistance to crushing when spooled on a drum.
Typical applications:
garage doors
industrial doors
lifting applications
slings
winch ropes
stay ropes

The PVC coating is UV stabilized which makes it suitable for longterm outdoor use and it is fully compliant with REACH Directive 1907/2006.
Rope construction: 6x19M-WSCMarking: According to standardTemperature range: -30°C up to +70°CStandard: EN 12385-4 except from coatingNote: End terminations must be placed on exposed steel wire rope. PVC-coating must be removed before applying a ferrule, and ferrule size is to be determined by the steel wire ropes dimensions. Periodic inspections of the steel wire rope can be made difficult due to the PVC-coating. The end user must handle this risk in a proper way, by for instance replacing the wire rope in time.Fill factor: 0,53
